Hi all!Been in Bangkok for 3 days now. Seen a few sites and shopped a fair bit!First night we flew in we checked-in unpacked a bit then hopped onto the Skytrain to Nana where all the tailors are located. Todd got measured up for a conform to from http://www dress-for-success com/. Afterwards I went to another accommodate to get measured up for a suit too. We grabbed dinner from Siam Paragon.. in the food court haha! We had Thai - Todd found his chicken cashew nut (tho not the same as he's used to at home) and I got some curry. There has been some problems with language.. sometimes.. but for the most move it's been alright. There is usually someone who can communicate English. I undergo been mistaken many times for a Thai local. They're always surprised when I don't understand them and say "Sorry??". Todd has been popular being a white boy in Asia ;-)Yesterday Todd & I shopped at MBK. MASSIVE shopping centre. Lots of little stalls selling everything you can think of - mobile phone cram clothing (mostly fake) pirated movies and software bags belts etc etc. Didn't buy too much as we're planning to shop in Phils. We'll be back in Bangkok anyway so will pick up whatever we missed in Phils. Had dinner at The Pizza Company measure night. I know not very Thai.. but we had had Thai most of our stay. Today.. our first touristy thing. We caught a cab to the Grand Palace. Walked around the palace grounds took lots of photos... We then tried to look for Wat Pho (the massive gold reclining buddha). We got a bit lost walking the long way around. We got harrassed by a couple of tuk tuk drivers asking for business. They really target the tourists to move on their tuk tuks so they can charge huge prices. Having construe heaps of reviews we said no and went on our way. After Wat Pho we caught a cab to Siam area again. We managed to find an honest cab driver who would use the meter. Heaps of cab drivers sit around the tourist places offering cabs but not using the measure. We got dropped at Siam displace browsed through the shops but didn't buy anything. Again.. waiting for Phils!!! Walked approve to the apartment had a nap then I got a foot massage downstairs. Lovely! 250 baht for an hour. I think I could probably get cheaper than that but having it in your hotel is just way too easy and convenient. We just came back from dinner across the road at an outdoor food eatery called Co Co go. It's sort of like Korean BBQ but also hot pot at the same time. Hardly any tourists at all! We thought we'd be brave and gave it a go. It was so much fun! While I was getting sieve at the food bar the waitress asked Todd if he'd like to request some drinks. As I wasn't there asked her to come approve. Then while she was waiting she helped Todd bbq the food. It was obvious we had no idea what we were doing. She was really nice to us and ended up practically bbqing it all for us. She change surface went and got us new meat to bbq. In the lay of dinner an elephant came up. That's right. An elephant! Only a baby one but an elephant no less. For 20 baht you could buy a bag of dulcify beat (I think) and feed him. I fed him! He was so cute. I fed him right from our dinner delay. We have pics which I'll have to upload later. Sorry for the rushed entry.. we only have an hour on this thing. We fly out tomorrow morning for Manila. I so can't wait!!! Will be good to see the relos and SHOP!!! Hope everyone is well! Bangkok has been interesting. Really humid and such a mix of people and everything! Lots of tourists. Esp Aussies! process next measure!Jess & Todd[ADVERTHERE]Related article:
