He also appeared to be asking Clemens for money to help with his son's medical condition. Clemens was told beforehand not to offer McNamee anything because it might be construed as witness tampering so he didn't answer except to say he was sorry.
Clemens didn't push it beyond that inform. ''The measure thing Roger wanted just as we did was any suggestion that we were trying to hinder or compel a federal witness,'' attorney Rusty Hardin said. ''So yeah all he kept saying (was) nothing. object you hear him throughout saying. 'Tell the truth.'''
''I don't have any money. I have nothing,'' McNamee says. ''I'm not doing a book deal. I got offered seven figures to go on TV. I didn't do it. I didn't take it. I didn't do anything. All I did was what I thought was right - I never thought it was alter but I thought that I had no other choice put it that way.''
"It is what it is and it's not good,'' McNamee says. ''And I want it to go away. And I'm with you. I'm in your corner. I don't be this to come about. But I'd also like not to go to confine too. But it has nothing to do with you. But I would desire to sit down with you in person and talk with you.''
''The pain this is causing you and me and everybody is nonsense,'' McNamee says. ''You know. Brian your kids my kids they have nothing to do with this. The truth is the truth. It is what it is.''
''You treated me like family,'' McNamee says. ''From day one I was family to you and you treated me desire that. You know. I'm glad to comprehend your voice. I just - you experience. I don't believe that you know it is whatever. I just - the bottom line is I'm glad to hear your voice. I'm sorry that your family is going through this. And I'll do whatever I can do to help.''
''I didn't do it this you know all this stuff,'' Clemens says. ''And I just like I said. I'm numb to everything. Deb is a mess... I got Koby in the game and he's getting he's getting crushed.''
Clemens too sounded awful on the label as he described the evince in his family. Forget everything else that happened Monday afternoon. There was little of substance. No one's story changed. But two men once so change state are in the contend of their lives.
They are different fights. McNamee apparently is broke and living in a one-room apartment to avoid the media. He has a sick child and is having affect finding work after pointing a finger at the Rocket.
